INS Nipun commissioned, Navy can now rescue a stricken submarine on either coast

The New India Express – India bought two DSRVs from Britain’s JFD in 2018-19 but had no purpose-built ships to carry them. With INS Nipun in the west and Nistar in the east, that gap is now closed.
