Editorial Note – New Archive Organized by Topic

I have just added to the Archive page an archive of NOSI, organized by topic. Every article posted to NOSI since July 1, 2004 has a topic assigned to it, and if you wish at any time to see all the recent articles posted on the “Royal Navy” or “Transformation,” etc. — simply go to the Archive page and click on the appropriate topic and you will be shown all the articles on that topic in reverse chronological order.

Editorial Note – NOSI's RSS Feed

One of the benefits of NOSI’s recent reorganization is that NOSI now has a valid RSS feed which can be found here. In short, RSS is a tool that monitors the flow of new information on your favorite Web sites and lets you know what is new on each site.

Editorial Note – NOSI's New Look

Welcome to NOSI’s new look.

Although the change in appearance is slight, the change behind the scenes is large.

This new look will allow me to introduce new features to NOSI that will make it more powerful and useful to you. These new features include a working RSS feed and an automated archive. I will take the time to explain these in detail next week.

The reason for the timing of the change is simple – today is the midpoint of the year, and is the time when I traditionally make a 6 month archive of NOSI.

Please note that the home page of NOSI will continue to contain approximately a month’s archive of news stories???it will take us a month from today to build that archive back up???
