Marines on such diverse missions must understand potential enemies as well as communicate with coalition partners. Failing to improve the Corpsí current cultural awareness will arguably prove to be a critical vulnerability for U.S. forces. However, the Marine Corps can take proactive steps over the next 15 to 20 years in order to increase the cultural awareness and understanding of its Operating Forces.
